Enable Transparency in Windows 8 Without any Bug or Glitch

Before starting the tutorial, lets make a few things clear:
  • After following the method given in this tutorial, you'll get transparency in window borders similar to Windows Vista and Windows 7 but there will be no blur or reflection effects.
  • It'll require a small utility running in background so that you can get stable transparency in Windows 8 without glitches.
Now if you want to get transparency in Windows 8, here are the required steps:
1. First we'll need to enable the hidden, unstable and buggy transparency in Windows 8. You can follow the method given in the above mentioned link or you can take care of a freeware "Aero8Tuner" created by our friend hb860.
First download the tool using following link:

2. After downloading the software, run it and enable "Force High Contrast Mode (you will get the unusable transparency)" option. At last save the changes.

Now you'll get a broken transparency in Windows 8 which will be full of bugs. As soon as you move a window, it'll ruin the transparency effect.
3. Now its turn of making this unstable transparency stable. We'll take help of another freeware "bLend" created by our friend Lord Devrexster. Initially the software was created for Windows XP to provide transparency effect similar to Windows Vista and Windows 7 but surprisingly, it still works in Windows 8.
Download it using following link:

4. After downloading, run the software and select "Set all windows to be transparent" option. Move the transparency level slider to the end i.e. 254. Enable the checkbox "Start at system booting" and click on "Apply/Resume" button.

That's it. It'll immediately make the unstable transparency stable and permanent in Windows 8 as shown in following screenshot:

You can see in the above image the transparency is perfect without any glitch.

How to use Proxifier for Windows 8 MetroStyle apps

Intro

I’ve been using the Windows 8 for a few days now and the biggest problem I had was using the Proxifier for Windows 8 MetroStyle apps. If you have used Windows 8 and Proxifier, you’ll know that the minute you install Proxifier, none of your Metro apps can access the internet. (This goes for the apps I have personally developed).
I wanted to continue using Windows 8 but, on the other hand, I had to use Proxifier because I use so many rules in this program for different domains and a simple proxy for all the internet traffic wouldn’t solve my problem. So, without any further talk, let’s get to it.

How to make it work

1. Download and install Fiddler 2. This app is a web proxy which allows web developers to debug their apps.
2. On the “Tools” menu, click on “Win8 Loopback Exemptions”. It’ll take you to downloading an app. Download (direct link) install and run it.

3. When you run the downloaded app, you’ll see something like the picture below. Just click on “Excempt All” and then “Save Changes” buttons respectively and close it.

4. That’s it. You can click “Ctrl+M” in Fiddler2 to minimize it to system tray and never see it again. Also you can add it to your system’s startup. Just remember that in order to be able to work in your Metro apps, you should first run Fiddler. After that all your Proxifier rules will work for your Metro apps as well as your desktop ones.
